Aquilegia 'Garden Mix'
The sweetest nodding bells that flower the whole way through spring in a special blend of pinks. We find aquilegias, also known as Granny’s Bonnets to be the loveliest filler in the garden and in arrangements at a time of year when we need as much colour and blooms as we can find. These gently self-seed around the garden, and they’re always a welcome sight.
Sow under cover from early spring onwards, preferably on a heat mat with a propagator lid. Do not cover the seed with compost. As soon as you see germination remove the lid and make sure it's the seed tray has lots of light. Can also be sown under cover in autumn and planted out the following spring after the last frost.
Aquilegia like fluctuating temperatures in order to germinate. Pop the seed tray outside for a few nights then bring back in to the greenhouse to aid germination.
Hardy Perennial
Aspect: Full Sun/Part Sun
Spacing: 12 inches apart
Height: 3ft
