A week of slow abundance; in the hedgerow the hazelnuts and honeysuckle are tied up in knots, then there’s dahlias by the armful in the garden, and in the orchards the branches droop low with fruit. The nights are closing in and there’s a chill in the air that wasn’t there last week- so slight, so gradual... it’s that subtle shift towards the inevitable.
