Wreath Season

“Our world is run in circles- rippling in a pond, a full moon rising, the ever expanding rings of a tree. And so, having come full circle in the seasons, I think there’s no better way to celebrate the passing of the year than with a wreath. "

-From Seed to Bloom

The clocks changed and with that the rhythm of winter has returned. Longer nights, a delicious layer of dark, and the cold finally settling in. It’s the time of warm jumpers, thicker socks and tucking ourselves up under blankets. I’m looking at evergreen trees in a whole new way- I do this every year, I forget their majesty and shadowy beauty until November arrives and then suddenly I’m searching them out, my eyes settling on them in the landscape, and the cool comfort that fills me up when the scent of them hits me on a walk.

Soaking up that sweet and sappy scent of woodland pines, spending time with evergreen branches woven together in calm and flickering candlelight, the savouring of wrapping up beautiful things in soft lengths of velvety ribbons- these are the joys of wreath season my friend, a chance to celebrate Winter as she slowly returns to greet us, and it makes me so happy to let you know that the Wreath Shop is now open!

In-Person Wreath Class

The most exciting wreath news for today’s newsletter, is that Paris and I will be hosting an in-person class in Sussex!

Join us for an afternoon or an evening session on December the 1st at The Barn at The Swan, Fittleworth for a relaxed and festive workshop where you’ll leave with your beautiful wreath of your making, some extra skills in floristry and hopefully a load of festive spirit.

It will be a celebration with festoons, twinkling lights, gentle Christmas music, mice pies, scented evergreens in the setting of a gorgeous, old Sussex Barn. It’s going to be the perfect start to the festive season, and I really hope you can come and join us- we can’t wait to meet you!
