Perch Hill Workshop 2023

I love this moment, when the blackthorn bursts into blossom against a backdrop of still bare trees and brooding evergreens, the crocus appearing daily like jewels in the verges, and the birds are back filling the dawns and dusk with song. Pussy willow has begun to transform from silver bud, into fluffy, yellow tails that hop in the breeze, and in this tentative back-and-forth of Winter Spring the promises of longer days and warmer bones is close. It only gets better from here, every day and each month will bring with it more and more beauty. And I have something exciting to bring to the pile of nice things to come- I’m hosting a workshop this Spring.

If spending a whole day in Sussex in Sarah Raven’s famously beautiful Perch Hill garden, being handsomely fed the most delicious lunch (plenty of which is grown at Perch Hill) isn’t enough to tempt you, then I hope a full day of me teaching the elements, principles and skills of making the most beautiful flowers to fill your home with when entertaining- from tables-scapes, to gorgeous centrepieces, will tip you over the edge.

I know that the highlight of the day for me will be when Sarah takes us on tour of her garden (it’s sublime- one of the most inspiring places to be), and together we will talk you through how to pick and condition for the longest vase-life, and there will be plenty of time to chat and get to know each other too. I really hope you can join us, I can;’t wait to meet you.

Here’s to having good things to look forward to on the horizon.
