Windowsill Wednesday. The decorating has begun in earnest- from a dusting of silver in the morning, to the golden streaks from a sun that never fully rises, and then there’s the baubles, the most festive of all- the shiny, red crabapples bringing all of the festive cheer.

West Sussex, England. #ayearinflowers #week50flowers Twisting honeysuckle into shapes, harvesting holly in the dark, and fighting with thorny rose hips- it’s a busy December and my hands have been shredded. Lucky that it’s been so much fun that it doesn't matter a bit. An excellent wreath workshop tonight- thanks to everyone who came along, I was blown away by your creativity.

If you want to get your hands on this everlasting wreath, it's for sale over at @thehackneymadecollective. A storm ripped through the woods last night, winter having her moment of destruction- dealing her blows in wind and ice.
Rudbekia ’Sahara’ frosted, and then back in her prime. Windowsill Wednesday. The pomp and dazzle of the festive period has begun; days beginning with ice, and churning slowly to end with sorbet sunsets.

Strawflowers ‘Salmon Rose’, ‘Bright Rose’, ‘Silvery Rose’. Honesty.
Clematis ‘Bill Mackenzie’ seedheads.
Larkspur ‘Giant White’. Briza Maxima.
Pampas grass.

West Sussex, England. #ayearinflowers #week49flowers My thoughts have been with the brave from London Bridge last week, and with those who lost their lives in the attack. A part of me thought to cancel the wreath making, but I’ve thought better of it... I shall be there at Flat Iron Square, by London Bridge weaving some evergreen beauty with you every Tuesday til Christmas, beginning today at 6.30. There’s still space and time to join if you need some good cheer. And just like that the frosts came and wiped the last of autumn away.

A work in progress of plumb lines and a gaping gap where the tunnel once stood- winter’s sketch of what’s to come. Windowsill Wednesday. The trees are all ablaze in reds, and pinks, and yellows; like candles in the wind, soon they’ll all be blown completely out.
