October 30th Flowers

There’s a sharpness in the air, an unsympathetic bite that has cut through the last plants standing; brave dahlia here, a solitary straw flower there cling on against the darkening sky of winter. Now’s the time of candlelight and fire, a flickering respite against the cold.
